Ways to prevent getting herpes?
If having unprotected sex or even protected can you after having sex with someone who is affected by herpes prevent you from getting it. are the chances smaller if the herpes carrier is female?
The best way to prevent herpes is abstinence. A TON of people have herpes and do not show symptoms, therefore they don’t even know they have the disease. That is how it is spread. You can have herpes, not know it, have sex, and infect someone else. If you have had unprotected sex, it is likely that you have herpes. Protected sex helps prevent the spread, but if your skin at some point came into contact with infected skin of the other person, it is also likely that you have the disease. And even though you may not have signs (like sores) you could still very well have the disease. The only way to really know if you have herpes or not is to get a blood test done and have your doctor test for herpes. They will check to see if your blood contains anitbodies to the virus, and if you do that means your body is trying to fight it off, and therefore you have it.
There is no cure for herpes, there are drugs that control the outbreaks but it is something you have for the rest of your life. Make smart decisions, and do not have unprotected sex unless you are making a commitment to the other person.
